55TH JAMHURI CELEBRATION 2018

The Embassy held the 55th Jamhuri day celebrations at the Pavillon Royal in Paris on 7th December, 2018. The event was attended by over 200 guests from the Diplomatic corps, Business community, French Government officials from Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Kenyan Diaspora.

During the celebrations, H.E Prof. Judi Wakhungu, EGH, Kenya’s Ambassador to France dwelt on the achievements of the Kenya Government during the last five years and the new focus on the four agenda of Manufacturing, Affordable Health care, Affordable Housing and Food Security.

She also informed that the Kenya Embassy in Paris had been identified as one of the Missions that will be issuing the new E-Passport but details will be communicated to the Diaspora.

As regards to Kenya- France relations the Ambassador noted that this has been strengthened due to the enhanced presence of French companies in Kenya which have continued to increase to over 100 Companies.

After the speech the Ambassador led the toast to Kenya’s 55th Independence Day. The Guests were served with both Kenyan and French cuisine. This was an opportunity to also promote the Kenyan culture as the guests were entertained by Utamaduni dancers with Kenyan songs.
